Clinical skills simulation training

All first year core medicine trainees must complete the mandatory clinical skills simulation training. If you’re a core trainee, training will be available at your Trust. Sessions usually cover:
• Chest drain insertion
• Vascular access with ultrasound
• Spinal ultrasound
• External pacing.

You’ll receive a Direct Observation of Procedural Skills (DOPs) following the completion of the training, which you can add to your ePortfolio. It will also contribute towards your final Annual Review of Competence Progression (ARCP).

If you’re a North West London core medical trainee please contact your local Postgraduate Centre for more information about this training. Any problems with accessing the training please contact the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust Lead Provider team here
