Returning to Work

Returning to clinical practice after any form of absence can be a period of increased stress and anxiety for a trainee as they re-adjust to a clinical environment.  Return to work programmes assist a doctor’s reintegration into the work place and may help decrease the stress or difficulties trainees face during this period.

The information available in this section is to provide guidance for trainees returning to the workplace after any form of absence.  It includes forms that can be completed and uploaded to the e-portfolio prior to any planned absence and forms that need to be completed on returning to work after any absence.  It is aimed at helping trainees’ to identifying their individual requirements in returning to the work, to try to ease the transition.
